Advertising Policy.

How TechView Africa separates paid work from editorial coverage and protects readers from deceptive technology advertising.

Last updated: 6 August 2026Primary jurisdiction: NigeriaPlain-English publication policy
In brief

Advertising can support independent publishing, but an advert must never be made to look like a news story, review, system warning or independent recommendation.

Clear separation and labels

Advertising must be visually distinguishable from editorial content. We use labels such as Advertisement, Sponsored, Paid partnership or Presented by, placed near the relevant headline or placement. We do not use labels that make paid content look independent. Advertisers cannot control independent news, reviews or corrections.

Prohibited or restricted advertising

  • Illegal products or services, fraud, malware, spyware or counterfeit products.
  • Deceptive financial claims, fake investment opportunities or misleading job offers.
  • Discriminatory, hateful, extremist, adult sexual, unlicensed medical or illegal-drug content.
  • Weapons, gambling directed at minors and products designed to bypass security or identity controls.
  • Ads that imitate system warnings, download buttons, editorial navigation, news alerts or security notifications.

Claims and placement

Advertisers must support objective claims. Ads must not obscure content, trigger accidental clicks, sit deceptively close to navigation, outnumber meaningful editorial content or encourage users to click merely to support the website. We may reject or remove a campaign that creates reader, security, legal or reputational risk.

Advertising complaints

Report a misleading, harmful or inappropriate advertisement with its URL or a description of where it appeared, the date and the concern. Do not submit payment credentials or identity documents. The advertising and editorial teams will assess the report and may pause or remove a placement while it is reviewed.

Advertising complaint

Report an advertisement that is misleading, harmful, inappropriate or disguised as editorial content.

We will not request identity documents through ordinary email. This website validates the request and requires a reviewed intake connection before personal submissions are forwarded or stored.
