Corrections Policy

How to report an error and how TechView Africa reviews, records and explains corrections.

Last reviewed: 16 September 2026Primary jurisdiction: Nigeria
In brief

Accuracy is a process. We welcome specific, sourced reports and do not silently change material facts.

How to report an error

Use the correction form below with the article URL, a precise description of the issue and a supporting source where possible. Reports about urgent security, financial or safety risks should say so clearly. Please do not submit private credentials, identity documents or confidential material.

Send this request

Email the relevant details to editorial@techviewafrica.com. Include the affected article or page link where applicable, and never send passwords, OTPs, PINs, identity documents or payment credentials by ordinary email.

How the desk reviews requests

The editorial team acknowledges reports when they reach a monitored intake, checks the underlying source and may contact the reporter or the subject of a claim. We do not promise an unrealistic deadline; timing depends on urgency, complexity, source access and whether legal review is needed. A correction request is not automatically proof that an article is wrong.

Correction levels

  • 1. Typographical or formatting correction — fixes presentation without changing meaning.
  • 2. Clarification — makes wording, context or scope easier to understand.
  • 3. Factual correction — fixes a verifiable wrong fact.
  • 4. Material correction — changes a meaningful fact, instruction, headline, rating or conclusion.
  • 5. Editor’s note — explains a material issue, dispute, safety concern or significant update near the affected content.
  • 6. Retraction — removes an article or claim when it cannot responsibly remain published.

Material changes, dates and social posts

We do not silently change material facts. A material correction note explains what was wrong, what changed and when it changed. Updated dates show that a page has been materially edited; last-tested and last-verified dates describe separate review events. When practical, headlines, comparison tables and social posts are corrected or annotated too.

Disputes and legal complaints

If you disagree with an editorial judgement, explain the specific factual basis and source. The editor responsible may escalate the matter to a senior editor or legal adviser. Legal complaints are handled through the contact page and should identify the publication, claim, requested action and a safe way to respond; do not use the form to send confidential evidence unless a secure route is agreed.
