ECOWAS Is Recruiting for Six Positions in Abuja

ECOWAS currently has six permanent vacancies at the Office of the Auditor General of ECOWAS Institutions in Abuja. The roles were published on 22 September 2026 and applications close on 5 November.

The Economic Community of West African States has opened applications for six permanent positions at the Office of the Auditor General of ECOWAS Institutions in Abuja, covering information technology, human resources, audit and administration.

Unlike many opportunities in TechView Africa’s remote-jobs coverage, these are office-based positions in Nigeria. All six vacancies currently carry the same application deadline: 5 November 2026.

The six ECOWAS vacancies

The salaries above are the annual figures published by ECOWAS for the starting grades shown in the respective job profiles.

The IT Officer vacancy is particularly relevant to technology professionals. ECOWAS is looking for experience across areas including ICT infrastructure, systems administration, cybersecurity or enterprise ICT management. Duties include network management, vulnerability assessments, identity and access controls, backups, disaster recovery, cloud services and patch management.

Who Is Eligible?

ECOWAS’s general careers guidance says recruitment is open to qualified nationals of its current 12 member states: Benin, Cabo Verde, Côte d’Ivoire, The Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone and Togo.

For professional-category roles such as IT Officer, HR Officer, Auditor and Administrative Officer, applicants are generally required to be under 45, except internal candidates.

The Office Manager and Administrative Assistant positions are General Service roles with an under-35 limit. Their job profiles also specify local recruitment, meaning applicants must be ECOWAS citizens resident in Nigeria.

Language requirements vary by position. Professional roles generally require fluency in one ECOWAS official language English, French or Portuguese while the Office Manager position requires two.
